These photos were taken late last summer and I didn't ever post them to my site. I know it may be fun for some of you to not only see a large group of horses in once place, but to see warm weather and shiny horses in the middle of winter. The photos were taken one late afternoon when Roger was helping me take photos. I took all kinds of "props" with me, but the one that got the most attention was the predator call. So, these were taken while he was blowing away on that. It is interesting how the same horses seem to show up in the middle of the herd. The greys for the most part didn't partake in the fun. You will notice them on the fringes, totally ignoring the action, or pinning their ears if the running herd got too close.

My favorite Arabian mare of all time. This is Halima Rabi, my first arabian "baby". She is the dam of many nice foals. Her last was Red Rock Harmony who will be three this year. She will likely never raise another with the horse market the way it is and her age. She will be 21 in 2010.

This is Crescent Jamala, one of the four sisters. She is out of Jamala Sahiba (deceased) and by Amurath Scorpio. She has produced some nice foals. Her last was "itchy". He had an accident about a year ago which damaged his cornea and he is partially blind. Crescent did a good job teaching him to cope and he is a confident youngster now.

This is another of the sisters. This is Redroc Ryiah. She is out of Jamala Sahiba and by A. Scorpio too. She is the youngest of the daughters and has never produced a foal. She has been ridden some as a younger mare. I got her back a couple of years ago and am letting her gain confidence in people again. She is coming along nicely.

This is the black bay mare redroc Jamala. She is a daughter of Crescent Jamala and by the straight egyptian stallion Ravenwood Tahriki. She is hard to photograph in the winter as she is so dark. Notice her tail dragging on the ground. She grows a long mane too, but I give her a butch haircut every spring since it gets so matted. She has a curly mane.

This is redroc Ibn Shadron, aka "Itchy". He is coming two. He is out of Crescent Jamala and by Psyches Shadron. He is partially blind, but doing very well. He does have some sight out of his right eye. His left eye has full sight.

Louise and Lyle. He is going out with her and learning the ropes. They are not related. They are from two different breeders. Louise is a spayed female, Lyle will be neutered as soon as he is a couple months older.

The goats. This years "billy" front and center. bambi on far left, then the two white goats misty and tinkerbelle. Fawn the flop eared goat in the rear with Jade and Agate the other two horned goats. They are all bred to "billy" for kids starting in March 2010.

The two pyr pups. The younger one is the female named Tacy. The one sitting is a couple months older and is named Lyle. Of course, in honor of my brother and sister-in-law. Lyle actually goes out with the sheep and "thelma and louise" and Tacy will be around the house. During the day right now when the sheep are in the corral, Lyle and Tacy play. When the sheep go out more it will be interesting to see if they both go out. Time will tell. Right now Tacy is a bit too young to be outside all the time. Lyle is just fine in the barn with the sheep.
