Scorpio was bred by the Plum Grove  Farm of Illinois.  *Ramses Fayek was imported from the EAO at the ripe old age of sixteen and began a successful show career.  *Sanacht was imported from Germany and is one of only two mares who were included in the arabian legends book published by western horseman.  "*Sanacht was especially well-known for her exceptional body and straight legs.  Her topline was smooth and strong, with excellent tail carriage and good withers and shoulders.  When crossed with more exotically "pretty" stallions, she produced incredible, high-quality foals who took Plum Grove Farm to the pinnacle of Arabian horse breeding success."  The Legends book goes on to say "She wasn't a spectacularly showy mare, but there just weren't any holes in her", said Loeber, recalling her training and subsequent horse show experience, during which she won several halter championships.  "Besides her excellent conformation, *Sanacht had such a great mind" added Loeber.  "I can't recall in all the years we owned her that she ever did a dumb thing.  She had the most human-like qualities I've ever known and she was so good with her foals." In February 1997, the Arabian Horse Trust inducted *Sanacht into its Hall of Fame........ as one of the breeds most influential mares.

Scorpio is very business like in his mannerism.  He is friendly and easy to handle.  His foals are incredibly strong for their size.  They have been substantial horses who excel at hill work.  His foals have all attained 14.2 regardless of the size of the dams and his foals average 15 hands.  Scorpio is one of those horses who is rarely ill....... in fact I cannot remember a snotty nose or tummy ache on this guy and most of his foals have been very hardy as well.  I have owned him since he was four years old.  He was foaled in 1985.
